ORGANISERS of a hugely successful community event that saw thousands flock to a Kidderminster park have confirmed it will return this year.

Brinton’s Bash will once again be held at Brinton’s Park on June 3 with a host of activities and entertainment starting at 12noon and going all the way through to 10pm.

The event, organised by Quads and Castles owner Dave Griffin and Ben Edmonds, came in last summer as a replacement for the now defunct Kidderminster Carnival.

More than 8,000 people turned out to enjoy the event, which also saw hundreds raised for chosen charity Wyre Forest Nightstop, which supports homeless young people.

Mr Griffin said he hoped this year’s event would be even bigger and better than the inaugural bash and invited sponsors or anyone who wants to take part to contact him.

Among those already confirmed for this year are popular band The Murmur, demonstrations by Eclipse Martial Arts and Chikee Monkey Zumba and a funfair.

There will also be a ‘Wyre Forest’s Got Talent’ competition that will give young people from across the district the chance to strut their stuff on the bandstand. And, just like last year, the day will end with a spectacular firework display.

Mr Griffin said: “We were so delighted with how last year’s event went. Having more than 8,000 people turn out was incredible and it was great to see the community come together for it.

“So it is wonderful that the event has been confirmed for this year. I am looking at making it even better than last year with some fresh features and activities for people to do.

“To help get these ideas off the ground, we would welcome any companies or people who would be interested in sponsoring the event and get involved.

“Brinton’s Bash had so much support last year which helped make it such a success. It also enabled us to raise vital funds for such a worthy cause – we will be supporting Nightstop again.

“We are already working hard planning the event to ensure it runs safely and smoothly. My Quads and Castles team are first aid trained and we have a first responder and we are organising security and facilities.

“But the main thing is for everyone to have fun. My idea for this was to give families the chance to enjoy a fun, community event such as the ones I enjoyed as a youngster.”
