BUOYANT Blackheath Townswomen's Guild are bidding to swell their numbers still further with some younger blood.

The thriving group have just celebrated their 18th birthday and are looking to build on this landmark.

The Guild meet on the fourth Wednesday of every month at the Methodist Church in Blackheath High Street.

Guild spokesperson, Carole Potter, said: "We're always on the lookout for new members but it's getting the word out to people and letting them know that we exist.

"We have 60 members at the moment but we'd love even more people to come along."

The Guild has guest speakers at every meeting and arrange regular trips out.

Mayor of Sandwell Cllr Julie Webb was a special guest at the Guild's recent 18th birthday bash.

Their next meeting takes place Wednesday November 23 starting at 10.30am when Mark Stillsbury will be attending to talk about the Royal British Legion.
