FOUR-YEAR-OLD Maisie Marsh is braced to lose seven inches of her long blonde hair as she and her mum both get ready for the chop to help children undergoing cancer treatment.

Zoe Marsh, aged 29, a chef at Redditch's Alexandra Hospital, decided it was about time both she and Maisie had a hair cut.

And they have decided to donate their tresses to the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for boys and girls who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.

The big day will be on Sunday (October 30), when Miss Marsh and her daughter, of Hewell Road, Enfield, will each have seven inches cut off their hair at the White Hart in Headless Cross, Redditch.

During the event, between 2 and 5pm, there will also be cake and make-up stalls, a "name the teddy bear" competition and a raffle, all in aid of the Little Princess Trust.

Local companies have donated many prizes for the raffle and Miss Marsh has set up a "Just Giving" page for the fundraising effort, called "Zoe and Maisie are donating their hair".

"Maisie has never had her hair cut and it's now down to the bottom of her back, as is mine," said Miss Marsh.

"She started at St Luke's First School this year and I decided that she should have it cut.

"Maisie understands what we are doing it for and is really excited."
