A CONVICTED robber damaged two windows after a drunken row with his dad sparked by a suspicion that money had been stolen from a wallet.

Wayne Frankum of Lower Chase Road, Malvern admitted two counts of criminal damage when he appeared before magistrates in Worcester on Thursday.

The 25-year-old damaged the window of his friend, Daniel Thurlow, and a window at the home of his dad, Ron Frankum, on September 1.

Kulbir Paul, prosecuting, said: "According to this gentleman's admission he and his father had gone to a friend's house to drink alcohol and take drugs. During the evening an argument develops between this gentleman and his father."

The argument between Frankum and his father continued as he followed his father back to his home.

Mr Paul said: "This gentleman, who is stood on the front drive, threw the outside table towards the motorbike on the drive. It caused a small pane of glass to smash at the front of the address."

Frankum then returned to his friend's address and damaged one of the double glazed windows there. By this time Mr Thurlow was asleep.

Frankum made full admissions to both matters with the offence happening just nine days after he was found to be drunk and disorderly in a public place.

Frankum has 23 convictions, the last one in August 2015 for being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

He received a 13 month custodial sentence for robbery in February, 2014.

Ian Parsons, defending, said most of Frankum's offending took place between 2006 and 2008 when he was a youth.

He said there had been a family argument that got 'out of hand' and Frankum 'started getting quite argumentative'. His father left Mr Thurlow's house as a result.

Mr Parsons said: "This gentleman follows his father back to his father's address. Daniel has told his father someone has looked inside his wallet. His father doesn't like that and something may have been stolen from the wallet.

"That increases the tension. It has been put to this defendant and he denies that. There has been quite an argument outside the house.

"Wayne Frankum accepts that he has ended up throwing items towards his father's house and accepts a window was broken.

"He went back to Daniel's house to confront him about what he had told his father."

Frankum said he banged so hard on the double glazed window he broke it.

Mr Parsons added: "He had cuts on his hand which he showed to police in interview."

Mr Parsons said Frankum had been prescribed anti-psychotic medication and it has also been suggested that he seeks support for his alcohol issues at Swanswell.

Magistrates handed him a community order for six months with a 10 day rehabilitation activity requirement. He was also fined £80.

No separate penalty was imposed for the drunk and disorderly offence. Frankum was further ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £85 and costs of £135.
