A BUDDING fashion designer has launched her first clothing range with the help of Miss Madrid.

Cherida Patterson grew up in Hereford before travelling the world which gave her the inspiration to start her own fashion line.

Last week her friend Yolanda Moreno Bello, who has been crowned Miss Madrid, travelled to Hay-on-Wye to model some of her clothes.

The pair met while they were both working for Emirates Airlines in Dubai.

"I was out in Dubai for a couple of years working and saw a gap in the market," said Cherida.

"The fashion line will run alongside a luxury website.

"I will be advertising the clothing line at Madrid fashion week in February and then Manchester fashion week in May.

"So far I have been getting everything prepared and designs ready for the big launch."

The fashion line named Cherida Elizabeth (www.cheridaelizabeth.com) was created after the 25-year-old 'jumped at the chance' of starting her own business.

Cherida added: "I have lived in Hereford all my life before moving to university a couple of years ago.

"However, I wanted to travel and get bored sitting around and so when I got the chance to work in Dubai I jumped at it.

"I have always had a passion for fashion but never had the guts to do it. I have never studied fashion but I'm using all the skills from my other work.

"It was a rushed decision and I jumped into it."
