MOOR Park School near Ludlow is celebrating an impressive number of awards won by its pupils to senior schools this term.

Overall the year eight boys and girls won 20 scholarships to 12 different senior schools nationwide.

The awards were across the board and included academic, music, art and sport scholarships.

In the last four years Moor Park pupils have won a 71 awards and in the last eight years every child has passed their entrance exam to the school of their choice.

Headmaster Jonathan Bartlett, who is leaving to become headmaster at St Andrews School in Pangbourne after seven years at the helm, said the results gave him a good send off.

“All good things must come to an end and I am delighted to bow out on such a high,” he said.

“These awards speak volumes for the children but also for the staff here who prepare each child individually and meticulously.

"They are reaping the rewards of their efforts and their success is a testament to their hard work.

"The groundwork done by the whole team is second to none in my experience and explains why all our children leave for boarding and day schools nationwide, happy, content and successful in their own way.

"I wish the year eight group and the school all the very best for the future.

“I have loved every minute of my time here and I leave with a heavy heart. But, as one door closes, another one opens and I will still be part of Moor Park as my eldest son, Alex, is staying in the school. I can now be a nosey parent!”
