A REDDITCH based production company is busy putting the finishing touches to its first horror film, Penny for the Guy.

Produced by Big Frog Films the 20 minute short is filmed entirely in Redditch and stars local couple Carla and Nigel Buckley, and Worcester-based actor Simon Thompson.

“We’re really pleased with what we have accomplished with this film,” said Mrs Buckley, who also wrote the film under her pen name Carla Kovach.

“We had huge support and help from other people – Mark Wallace and Neil Davidson from Armoured Films, Mark Whitehouse the other third of Big Frog Films, and award winning Kaush Patel from Pat The Bull Films."

“We shot the film over four weekends last November,” said Nigel, who co-directed the film with Kaush Patel.

“We had a very limited budget so we made sure all our extras and crew were well fed. We are extremely grateful to everyone who gave their time to making this the little gem that it is.”

Big Frog remain tight lipped on the story as it doesn’t want to give too much away but say there are a few twists and turns and shock moments throughout.

Penny for the Guy will be premiered with two other Midlands made horror films on October 31st at a special Halloween themed night at The Palace Theatre Room Upstairs.
