WEBBS Garden Centre in Wychbold is holding its annual Donate, Don’t Dump Day to raise money for Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Visitors to the centre are being asked to have a bit of a spring clean and bring along any unwanted clothing and household items, which will then be donated to Acorns to restock their charity shops.

There will be a collection area set up in the car park of the garden centre on Thursday, May 14 from 10am to 5pm, and people will be able to drop off any good quality items they no longer want or need.

The items will then be sorted ready to sell in local charity shops.

Mandie Fitzgerald, community fundraising manager at Acorns, said: “We are very grateful to Webbs Garden Centre for their support over the years and are delighted they are holding Donate, Don’t Dump day once again. It costs over £8 million per year to provide our services and we rely on funding from the local community and from our network of shops to raise the majority of this amount.”

Garden centre chairman Ed Webb, added: “The aim of 'Donate, Don't Dump Day' is to improve the quality and quantity of donations to charity shops and for giving in this way to be an easy and frequent event. This helps charities such as Acorns to raise the much needed funds to carry out their invaluable work in the community.”
