A PENSIONER has apologised for breaching a criminal anti-social behaviour order (CRASBO) that had just over a month to run.

Seventy-four-year-old Patrick Niblett appeared at Worcester Magistrates' Court on Friday and pleaded guilty to breaching the order on November 12 in Worcester city centre.

Prosecuting, Sarah Belshah said Niblett, previously of no fixed abode but now living in Bransford Road, Worcester, had been issued the CRASBO at the court on January 8 2013 for anti-social behaviour and for being drunk and disorderly. The order was due to expire in January 2015 and restricted him from entering the city centre.

She said Niblett was a regular visitor to the court for breaching orders. The latest incident was at 12pm on November 12 when officers spotted him crossing North Quay and heading for Deansway. He was lost from view until CPSOs saw him at Crowngate bus station.

"He was approached by the PCSO and on seeing them started shouting abuse and swearing in front of members of the public," said Miss Belshah.

Defending, Barry Newton, said Niblett was of poor health and on the day he was approached had been drinking because he had been in a lot of pain. He had been taken to hospital where he had been kept in for two days.

Mr Newton said he had since drastically reduced his intake of alcohol and was better for it. He added that he had recently acquired a caravanette which he lived in in Bransford Road where he also has livestock.

Niblett apologised to the court for his language on that day.

He was fined £35, ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £20.
