A KIDDERMINSTER nursing home celebrated its first anniversary during a day of entertainment.

More than 80 people, including residents, staff members, family and friends, gathered at Brook Court, in Oldnall Road, to recognise a year since the home opened.

Guests were entertained by Mary Baulk, a puppeteer from Butterfly Theatre, and Tom Wenlock, a local singer who performed timeless classics from days gone by.

Memory Lane Picture Show also hosted a range of classic films in Brook Court’s own cinema while a variety of refreshments were served up by the home’s chef.

Linda Clements, home manager at Brook Court, said: “It’s been an incredible first year at Brook Court and the time has flown by.

“We’ve achieved a lot since first opening and I’m excited to see where the next year takes us.

“I’m thrilled so many people came to celebrate the first anniversary and everyone had a great time.

“People really enjoyed the entertainment, especially the puppets, and were complimenting the chef’s amazing food.”

Brook Court provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short term respite care.
