THE civic head of Bromsgrove council is to host a fundraising event on board a canal boat.

Councillor John Ruck is inviting residents to take part in an entertaining evening aboard ‘The Blackcountry Man’ on Saturday, September 27 between 5 and 7.30pm.

Councillor Ruck said: “It would be great to sell all the tickets for the boat trip because not only will it mean a fantastic atmosphere for everyone attending, it will also mean that we can raise as much money as possible for this year’s civic charities.”

All proceeds from the event and will go to councillor Ruck’s charities, Libby Mae’s Little Angels and Help for Heroes.

Tickets cost £20 per person and include a chip shop supper as well as live music on the boat.

A raffle will take place and refreshments will be available from an onboard bar.

As places are limited and tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, booking early is advised.

Boarding will take place from 4.30pm at The Blackcountry Man, Bonded Warehouse, Canal Street, Stourbridge, West Midlands, DY8 4LU.
