A DROITWICH care home has come second in a competition out of nearly 2,000 homes in the West Midlands, vying to be named the best in the region.

Newland Hurst Care Home was placed second in the contest out of 1,830 West Midlands care homes, receiving an award from the online directory and industry website carehome.co.uk.

The award was decided based on online recommendations from residents as well as their friends and relatives.

Director of carehome.co.uk, Davina Ludlow, said: “We felt the best people to rate a care home were the people who really know its ins and outs, its residents and their families.

“Newland Hurst Care Home has proved that it provides a great service, and we’d like to congratulate them on being a top recommended home in the West Midlands. It’s a brilliant achievement to be recognised for your hard work but particularly from the people who you work hard for.

“The care home will be recognised on our website as a top rated home and will receive a certificate from us.”

Andrew Russell, manager of Newland Hurst, added: “This carehome.co.uk award means a great deal as this shows how committed everyone is at providing the best possible support to meet people’s needs and offering a good service to individuals.

“Here at Newland Hurst everyone works as a team and will pull together to make what Newland Hurst is today, which is a lovely home for residents that live here, some of the residents have lived at Newland Hurst for years and years. We will enjoy sharing the good news together with families and friends.”
