FOUR students at Alcester Grammar School spent the day clowning around last week, without any risk of being told off for it.
The pupils were given the opportunity to work with Birmingham-based clown and performer Jane Sutcliffe from Metaphisique Theatre, as part of a series of masterclasses.
Year 9 student Laura Harris, Year 10's Rachel Harris, and Susi Grumball from Year 13, along with fellow student Emma Brisband, have attended a series of classes with Jane, in preparation for a performance piece entitled Three of Hearts which they then showcased before Metaphisique's touring one-woman show Cupid's Strongest Bow, which was performed in the evening at the Alcester Performing Arts College Theatre.

Jane said: "It was great. It really gave the students the chance to develop the piece of work. There was no onus on them to perform, but they'd done some fantastic physical work and they performed in the evening with me. I was amazed at the audience's reaction."
