MEDIEVAL soldiers battled it out at Tylers Green to help Scouts raise enough funds to buy a new minibus and improve facilities.

About 2,000 people flocked under a clear blue sky to the Penn and Tylers Green Scout Group's Medieval Day on Monday.

Revellers enjoyed archery displays and watched actors from company Medieval Mayhem re-enact the Battle of Agincourt.

Organiser Jon Earnshaw, of the 26th High Wycombe Penn and Tylers Green Scouts, said: "It was fantastic and the weather was ideal. A very large number of people came up and everything went to plan."

The event, which took place on Tylers Green Common, took about nine months to plan and involved more than 70 people who helped out on the day.

Mr Earnshaw added: "The battle demonstration wasn't just watched by children but adults too. It was very informative and interesting."

The Penn and Tylers Green Scouts, one of Buckinghamshire's largest Scouting groups, want to extend the storage facilities at their hut in Ashley Drive, Tylers Green. The group is also looking to buy a new minibus.
