PUPILS and staff at Matchborough First School are celebrating a satisfactory Ofsted report.
The school had its inspection in February and the report said: "Matchborough is a satisfactory school, which is improving. The key strength is the very clear vision of the headteacher."
The Ofsted team also found the children's personal development and well being to be good and this was found in all aspects of school life, with good progress also being made by pupils in the Nursery Plus and Speech and Language Unit.
Headteacher Jackie Harris said: "We're pleased with these judgements but realise that we still need to ensure we improve further.
"This report reflects all the hard work undertaken by both staff and pupils."
Ofsted stated that to improve further the school needs to improve boys writing and to ensure that school governors become more effective.
Redditch councillor Juliet Brunner said: "I'm absolutely delighted Matchborough First School has achieved this Ofsted result.
"Mrs Harris, her staff and children have to be congratulated for doing so well.
"It's a welcome boost for the community."
