A SCOTTISH woman had her handbag stolen as she dined with family at a town centre restaurant.
The victim, a woman from Glasgow in her 60s, was with relatives at the Jade Garden chinese buffet in Church Green West at about 12.10pm on Thursday, July 3.
She had placed her handbag on the back of her chair and went to the restroom, leaving other family members at the table. When she returned she noticed that her bag, containing glasses, keys, a silver ring with a lilac stone, a silver pen and £90 cash, had been taken from the chair.
The victim had been aware of a couple sitting near to her who, upon her return from the restroom, had left halfway through their meal and gone from the restaurant.
The couple are described as being of oriental appearance and aged 25 to 30. The woman was slim with spiky shoulder-length hair which was brown at the top and blonde at the bottom. The man had short dark hair and was wearing a grey hooded top which had a distinctive white fleck on the chest.
They possibly walked up Church Green and got into a vehicle.
