A BRAVE Redditch man will be tackling a gruelling 70-mile bike ride to raise lots of cash for a good cause.
Stuart Howell, 41, who works for Kingfisher Blinds, will be taking part in the Solihull to Oxford ride on July 6.
The main beneficiary of the sponsored ride is the Jennifer Trust for Spinal Muscular Atrophy but Stuart has asked if he can raise money for another good cause at the same time.
He will be giving 20 per cent of his sponsorship to the Jennifer Trust and the rest will be going to Worcestershire Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre (WRSASC).
The centre is a charity based in Worcester that offers a free, confidential and non-judgemental service run by women for women across Worcestershire who have experienced any form of rape or sexual abuse at any time.
Stuart said: "I know someone who works for the charity and am aware that they do a lot of fantastic work for women who have suffered - it is the only place of its kind in the area."
A spokesman for WRSASC said: "We are very grateful to Stuart for choosing us as his nominated charity. We know he has trained long and hard and we wish him well.
"Monies raised will be used to continue offering a much needed and valuable service."
Anyone wishing to find out more about the service or sponsor Stuart can write to WRSASC, PO Box 240, Worcester, WR12 2LF or can call the office on 01905 611655.
Alternatively, people can call the charity's helpline on 01905 724514.
People can also sponsor Stuart by visiting the Kingfisher Blinds office in Washford Industrial Estate.
