FOR the next few weeks, two Redditch women who work at Warwickshire College will be running courses for students in the United Arab Emirates.
Tracy Bridger, curriculum leader for fashion/theatre, costume and makeup, and Emma Sadula, lecturer in sport science and fitness studies, left on June 12.
They are taking part in the Technical and Career Education Summer Challenge Project in Al Ain, the second city of the Abu Dhabi Emirate.
During the five-week visit they will be teaching two two-and-a-half-week courses to groups of female students aged 14-17. The idea is to get them interested in running businesses and having careers.
Speaking before she left, Tracy, who has worked for the college since it opened five years ago, said: "I'm looking forward to it, though it's been hard getting everything sorted and making sure everything is in place.
"I'll be teaching fashion design and history of fashion and helping them with eco-fashion and a project based on their national identity."
She added: "We'll be teaching about industry links too so it's more like a careers event. We have to advise on career options and what routes they need to follow to be a merchandiser or fashion designer."
It is hoped the visit will attract more people from the country to come and study at Warwickshire College, which already has a number of UAE students.
