Metal theft crackdown

A TEENAGER has been charged in connection with the attempted theft of lead from a Redditch community facility.

The 16-year-old boy has been charged with going equipped for theft at Matchborough West Meeting Rooms, Clifton Close, on Wednesday, April 30.

He is due to appear before Redditch magistrates tomorrow. (May 8).

At least 90 arrests have been made since Project Livewire, West Mercia Constabulary's campaign to tackle metal theft, began last July.
