POLICE are appealing for information after a cyclist was attacked in Redditch.

The victim, a 39-year-old man, was cycling along Easemore Road when he was approached by another man who was on foot. The offender punched him twice to the head and then picked up the victim's cycle and threw it at a car before walking off.

There was no obvious motive for the attack, which happened at 11.20am on Monday, April 28.

The victim sustained minor injuries to his face and head but did not need medical treatment.

The offender is described as white, in his 20s, with short dark hair, and wearing blue jeans and a brown leather jacket.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Pc Steve Woodman of Redditch Police on 08457 444888 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
