Police look for driver who shed beer load
WITNESSES are being sought by police after an incident in which a lorry shed its load of beer barrels, damaging a car, in Redditch.
The lorry was negotiating the island at the junction of Coventry Highway and Moons Moat Drive, by McDonald's restaurant, when it three metal kegs rolled off the end causing considerable damage to a car which was waiting to pull on to the island.
The lorry did not stop and continued on to Ravensbank Drive.
The lorry is described as being an articulated vehicle with a blue trailer and was curtain sided.
It happened at about 5.40pm on Monday, April 28.
Pc Chris Bradley of Redditch Police said: "The roads were busy at the time with commuter traffic and we are appealing for witnesses either driving in the area, or within Mcdonald's.
"Luckily nobody was injured but needless to say this could have had far worst consequences given the size and weight of the barrels."
Witnesses or anyone with information should call Pc Bradley on 08457 444888.
