THE new director of the Palace Theatre has been named after several weeks of speculation.
He is Patrick Masefield, a familiar face in the theatre world and in Redditch.
On Tuesday he took up his new position as project director, a name to sum up his role of looking into new ideas and plans for the theatre and putting them into action.

Members of the Mercian Theatre and Arts Federation were delighted to welcome Mr Masefield, who is 40-years-old, and lives in Worcester, to their midst.
Mr Masefield has been involved in theatre for most of his life and has been directing for 16 years in theatres all over the country.
He recently completed five years as director of the Swan Theatre in Worcester and for the past year he has been working on projects for the Arts Council of Great Britain.
