REDDITCH Urban District Council, who want to guard against possible rowdyism at the Kingfisher Hall, Redditch, decided on Monday, to allow only one use of the hall for a "rock 'n' roll" dance as an experiment and to consider the other application at a later date.
An application was made by the Conservative Association for the hire of the hall on two dates, but the council decided to postpone the second application until they saw the outcome of the first session of "rock 'n' roll".
Several members spoke in appreciation of this form of dancing, but were concerned about the possibility of rowdyism.
