AN elderly Redditch couple are at their wits end over a mysterious smell which they say is making their home impossible to live in.

Pensioners Malcolm Woods, 69, and his wife Edna, 66, claim fumes in their Church Hill bungalow are making life a misery.

But council, gas and electricity "sniffers" who have visited their Upper Field Close home can find nothing.

The couple have lived in the bungalow for four years and were perfectly content until two weeks ago when they first smelt the fumes which they say have got worse.

"It is very frustrating because this is ruining our lives, but no-one else seems to be able to smell it and I wonder if the council believes us," said Mrs Woods.

A spokesman for the borough council said tests had revealed nothing, but the matter would be investigated further.
