AT Tuesday's meeting of the Redditch District Council it was decided to apply to the Local Government Board for sanction to effect new loans, amounting to £4,500 - £3,000 for sewage disposal purposes and £1,500 for new cables and meters in connection with the electric supply undertaking.
As to the last named sum, respecting which a Local Government Board inquiry was held on Wednesday, we cannot help expressing regret - and we believe it will be shared by most of the ratepayers - that the council do not even find themselves able to meet such expenditure out of revenue and it is quite certain that matters financial in connection with the electric supply undertaking are not going nearly as satisfactorily as they should.
