REDDITCH MP Jacqui Smith requested views from her article in the Advertiser/Chronicle about caring for older people and meeting the needs of our changing society.
My views are - and you have heard them before - carers can't live on £50 a week.
I hear the Government is to double the respite, well whoopy doo, that is really going to help pay the bills.
Even if carers get any respite how can you afford to go on holiday any way on £50 a week.
Don't forget, this is the lowest benefit and it is paid to people who do something worthwhile and usually work 24/7 without breaks, weekends, holidays etc.
It is about time we were rewarded the same as foster carers.
