Looking into potholes...
I AM so glad Brian Walker (Crabbs Cross) has brought the state of Redditch roads to the fore again (Your view May 7).
I have already voiced my opinion on the state of the roads just over a month ago - money down the drain.
I travel to Worcester every fortnight, and took particular interest on the state of their roads. I was amazed at the distance I travelled before I spotted a pothole. If I was asked truly to give a percentage on the conditions, I would have to say 90 per cent Redditch, 25 per cent Worcester (damage factor).
And when I did spot a pothole I noticed the thickness of the road surface, far thicker than that of the roads around Redditch.
And who do we, as Redditch citizens, pay our Council Tax to? Worcester.
Now Redditch has a new council, perhaps they could work with Worcester and get more money to spend on our roads and address the balance.
I look forward with anticipation to better roads, and a fairer deal for all.
