COULD I please through your paper say a big thank you to the butchers and florist shops on Alcester Road, Studley, also to The Shakespeare public house, The Bell Inn, Studley, and also Clintons card shop in Redditch town centre.
All these places proudly flew the flag ie: the cross of St George.
A big BOO' to Tesco, Oakenshaw, and Co-op, Studley, whose attitude was we have had no instruction from head office - yet both had big displays for St Patrick's Day. This is obviously only done as a money-making effort to sell Guinness.
All the people that have their flags waving proudly from their houses and cars when England are playing football, where were you on St George's Day? Why not fly this flag as a mark of respect for our patron saint and celebrate England's day? This is what the flag represents.
This Government are saying they want to introduce a citizen's lesson in all schools. Would'nt April 23 have been a much cheaper way of teaching our kids a bit of pride and respect for their country ? How many schools had the flag flying from their flag pole? Not many I would bet?
I am fed up with reading and listening to people moaning about how imigrants are taking over our beloved England.
All I can say is by ignoring St George's Day you are handing over our heritage on a plate.
People of England you should hang your heads in shame.
