Fly the flag!
WHILST driving through Alcester on St. George's Day - last Wednesday (April 23) - a distinct lack of enthusiasm for this occasion was evident.
The flag of St. George was displayed at the Post Office, several dwellings in Evesham Street and at The Bear Inn, the White Swan Hotel, and the White Lion.
So full marks to the public houses. However, the town flagpole at the top of the High Street and public buildings were either flying an unrelated flag or none at all.
Oh, there was one exception, outside the Police Station a Union Jack was flown so I think half marks are appropriate here.
Overall, a poor effort, could do better.
