I WAS appalled to read of the Government's treatment of ex-Gurkhas.
Whole families in Nepal have loyally served this country for over two hundred years.
Unbelievably, those older Gurkhas who completed their service with the British Military some years ago before settling here (as permitted by previous governments) have now been told they must return to Nepal and, in the meantime, they are not allowed to work here.
In view of this Government's haphazard and completely ineffective efforts to control and repatriate illegal immigrants from all over the world their attitude to the Gurkhas seems incomprehensible.
I would be most interested to hear what Redditch MP Jacqui Smith, as Home Secretary, has to say on this matter.

ALCESTER Fire Station opened its doors on Saturday for an open day that lasted well into the night, with everything from face painters and bouncy castles, to a barbecue and live bands.
REDDITCH Market has now moved back to its permanent home on Alcester Street following a makeover.
A BRAVE member of staff stood up to armed robbers when they carried out a terrifying raid at the Hollywood sub post office.
THE funeral of James Hughes, whose body was found concealed in a suitcase in the garden of his Redditch family home, will take place on Friday.
A REDDITCH man jailed indefinitely for a vicious bottle and knife attack which left his victim permanently scarred failed in Appeal Court challenges to his conviction and sentence.
WHILE customers of Mount Pleasant Post Office fight to keep it open, customers of the main town centre post office will soon benefit from a refurbishment.
