Choir helps with singing at funerals

9:55am Tuesday 25th March 2008

I WAS pleased to see the article in last week's Advertiser about the wonderful new music system being installed in Redditch Crematorium.

I should like to take this opportunity to remind your readers of the service offered by the Primrose Choir.

We are a secular choir who sing to raise money for the Primrose Hospice and Cancer Help Centre.

We are aware that singing at funerals sometimes presents a problem because of the distress of the people present, particularly if the congregation is rather small.

We are often able to help out on these occasions by joining the congregation and swelling the volume of the unison singing.

We are known to all the funeral directors in the Redditch and Bromsgrove area and they make the arrangements with us when we are needed. We ask for a small fee.

Families who have used us have been very appreciative.

Pamela Powley

Primrose Choir Secretary
