Attempted metal theft foiled

A YOUTH has been arrested in Matchborough on suspicion of the attempted theft of lead as part of Project Livewire.

The 16-year-old was charged with going equipped for theft on Wednesday, April 30 at Matchborough West meeting rooms on Clifton Close.

The arrest is the latest in over 90 that have been made as part of Project Livewire's campaign to tackle metal thefts in the region.

Anyone with information concerning any metal theft is asked to contact West Mercia Police on 0457 444888 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
