POLICE patrols are being stepped up after two more young girls in Redditch were faced with a man in his 60s indecently exposing himself to them - the third incident in just two weeks.

And police believe the same grey-haired man may have been responsible for all three incidents.

The latest happened on Monday at about 8.20am when two 13-year-old girls were walking along Tillington Close in Winyates East.

A man in his early to mid 60s with grey hair, wearing a blue top and blue tracksuit bottoms, exposed himself to them.

Sgt Mark Wilkes, from Redditch South Sector, said: "We've had several incidents reported to us recently where an elderly man wearing jogging bottoms has indecently exposed himself to young girls.

"This trend is worrying and we will be increasing patrols in the areas where these incidents have occurred, particularly as schools start and finish."

Police confirmed the girls involved in this latest incident were very upset by the experience.

"We understand the impact that this sort of offence can have and it is vital we identify the man responsible," said Sgt Wilkes.

"We are appealing to anyone who recalls seeing a man matching this description in the Tillington Close area between 8-8.30am on Monday to give us a call.

"Equally, if you feel you may know who this man is, please get in touch.'' Sgt Wilkes added: "He tends to wear dark-coloured tracksuit bottoms and so if you can link this to his description and suggest a name, then we would like to hear from you."

Police are also liaising with Redditch schools in connection with these incidents.
