St Mary’s Wives Group, Wythall
THE group held its AGM on Thursday, March 27.
Jo Chandler, president, welcomed members and read out several letters of thanks from those who had been ill and received cards and flowers.
All the affairs of the club were in order, having heard the annual reports from June Carrington, secretary, Margo Green, treasurer and the outings secretaries, who reported that the two coaches had been booked for our ramble and meal in Kinver and the summer outing in August to Buckingham Palace.
The speakers' secretary reported that she had booked the speakers for the next year.
Jo Chandler, the retiring president, then read our her very humorous report and was presented with a garden ornament.
Jo announced that seven committee members were retiring and asked if we could have volunteers for the new committee.
Members were then invited to read out their limericks that they had composed, starting with the line "There were a group of young ladies from Wives", this caused much laughter.
Members then sat down to a very enjoyable cheese and wine supper.
