Woman has life threatening injuries after Inkberrow collision

FIRE crews from Redditch and Bromsgrove were called to assist at a road traffic collision along a country road in Inkberrow yesterday.

The incident, involving a car and a van, took place in Stockwood Lane just after 7.45pm and left a woman medically trapped inside the car with life threatening injuries. No one in the van was hurt.

Group Commander Mick Cadman from Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) said: “With Watch Manager Bob Morris from Redditch in charge and guidance from paramedics, crews worked rapidly to remove the roof of the vehicle and extricate the woman.

“She was lifted out of the car on a spinal board, stabilised at the scene and then taken by land ambulance to hospital.”

Fire crews then ensured the vehicles were left in a safe condition before leaving the scene.
