FOLLOWING last week’s article about the rat problem at Arrow Valley Lake, the Advertiser has received dozens of pictures of the vermin.

These photographs were taken by Tony Banks who visited the lake recently.

He said: “I happened to be at the lake feeding the ducks when a swarm of rats, at least eight at one time, came up on the duck feeding platform.”

Redditch Council did enlist the help of a pest control expert when they were made aware of the problem and bait was put down but said it does take a while for the vermin to take the bait.

It is also erecting a sign asking people not to feed the ducks from the feeding platform while they wait for the bait to be taken by the rats.
