Musical Variety Show success

A MUSIC show aimed at showcasing local talent was a huge success, say organisers.

The Musical Variety Show, organised by AiR (Arts in Redditch), was held last week at the Palace Theatre.

It featured a number of local artists including Cosmotheka and folk group Revenge of the Wrinklies, and supports a campaign to bring an arts centre to the town.

Chairman of AiR Malcolm Hall said: "The audience comments after the show were very positive about the high quality of performances, as well as the variety of music and the pace of the show.

“We also managed to sign up another 25 members to our campaign.”

Former councillor Mr Hall added: “Based on this success we will discuss organising another show very soon.”

Redditch Council is currently conducting an overview and scrutiny review to determine the benefits of having an arts centre in the town.
