Neighbours can hear "loud hissing" from gas leak at Arrow Vale School

THE gas leak in Matchborough the Advertiser reported on earlier took place in Arrow Vale School.

According to reports, pupils have been sent home after being evacuated from the building.

Matchborough councillor Juliet Brunner, who lives on the other side of the rugby field, said: "The school and the nursery have been evacuated, and there is a lot of police officers here, making sure they keep people away.

"There seems to be something shooting 20ft into the air. And there seems to have been another rupture which has water shooting out of it as well.

"I can actually hear the loud hissing from the leak. It seems very serious and I have already had calls from concerned residents."

Police have closed off surrounding roads, and have been joined by fire crews and British Gas technicians.
