FAMILIES are being invited to celebrate the fruitfulness of the community at an Apple Day on Headless Cross Green.
Volunteers from the community orchard on Headless Cross Green will be welcoming people to get involved in tasting, peeling and bobbing for apples.
Orchard volunteer Neil Marsh said: “The orchard project is a tremendous success, it really works.
“Apple Day, our third event this year, will be no exception - we’ve a fun packed day planned.”
The event is not all about the apples. There will be live music, local stalls, face-painting, relaxing therapy and children’s and games and activities.
There will also be a barbecue featuring sausages from Rough Hill Rare Breeds.
Mr Marsh added: “We’re creating a real sense of community on Headless Cross Green.
“Remembering the richness of everyday values, like sharing food, helps create a better place for now and future generations.”
The Apple Day event, to be opened by Redditch MP Karen Lumley, is Saturday, October 13 from 11am until 4pm.
