Palace variety spectacular to raise funds for new arts centre in Redditch

REDDITCH Arts Centre, a local group campaigning to establish a permanent arts centre in the town, is promoting a variety spectacular at the Palace Theatre on Wednesday, October 10 from 7.30pm.

The evening will feature a host of talented performers from the Redditch area, intended to highlight the range and quality of individuals and groups who are already active in the town. Acts confirmed include Cosmotheka, Bel Canto Singers, and the Emma Skipp Band.

The Redditch Arts Centre project, which now has more than 150 supporters, is looking to establish a permanent base in which new and existing arts organisations, and individuals, can meet together to pursue interests, be it painting, dance, drama or music.

Philip Roberts, a member of Redditch Arts Centre steering group, said: “The Palace show will be a great evening out and an opportunity to showcase home-grown artistic talent.

“This will help us to raise some preliminary funds, and raise the profile of our campaign for this much-needed facility.”

Tickets for the evening are £7.50, or two for £10, and can be obtained from the Palace Theatre Box Office on 01527 65203 or redditchpalacetheatre.co.uk.
