Budding young thespians

YOUNGSTERS from Batchley First School were recently treated to a visit from members of the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC).
James Farrell, a theatre director based in London and currently working on the summer season of plays in Stratford-Upon-Avon, ran workshops for the budding young thespians.
Children experienced genuine warm-up games used at the RSC and worked on speeches from the classic tale A Midsummer Nights Dream.
The work will be built upon within the children’s drama sessions with teacher Louise Fulwell.
Miss Fulwell was chosen from more then 300 people to be part of a collaboration between the RSC and amateur performers.
A school spokesman said: “The children, who initially found the language challenging, soon grasped how the text works and began to devise short pieces of performance.”
