EXCITING children’s author Damian Dibben recently paid a visit to Woodfield Academy.
As part of the trip the London-based author spoke to pupils about his life and his latest book in the History Keepers series - Circus Maximus.
He also signed copies of the new publication.
Mr Dibben’s debut novel, The History Keepers, The Storm Begins, was launched in 2011 and was described as a cocktail of time travel, secret societies, double agents and edge-of-your-seat excitement.
Aimed largely at nine to 13-year-olds it follows the story of young hero Jake losing his parents in time.
The first novel has been translated into 24 languages and there is also a film deal with Working Title/Universal (the team behind Billy Elliott, Atonement, Nanny McPhee and Bridget Jones).
Mr Dibben said it was brilliant to be at the school and to meet the pupils.
Speaking about his inspiration he said: “I am a fan of Indiana Jones and James Bond and wanted to write big adventure stories involving heroes, villains, romance and danger.”
