CHILDREN’S charity Mentor Link has successfully secured a five year funding deal from the Big Lottery Fund.
This is great news for the charity and acknowledges that the service that Mentor Link provides to young people makes a positive difference and is an invaluable resource to them and their local community.
The charity is dedicated to helping children by providing a volunteer mentor who supports, listens and befriends them each week in school.
The new funding will enable the charity, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, to continue its life-changing mentoring work with young people in the Redditch area and also develop by expanding into the neighbouring areas of Telford and Dudley.
The charity have exciting plans to support even more children in Redditch schools.
Mentor Links founder and CEO Andrea Maddocks MBE said “I am really delighted that the Big Lottery Fund have decided to provide further support to Mentor Link and the young people that we help.
“We look forward to supporting more young people thanks to the new funds.
“I would like to say a big thank you to our staff, volunteers and trustees who all give their time to make a positive difference to them.”
Richard Bean, chairman of trustees, said: “I would also like to thank the staff at the many schools we work with for their continued support and we welcome the opportunity to continue this work for many years to come.”
