AN audience at Studley High School enjoyed a virtuoso performance by the Leo Quarter, four highly talented string musicians from the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, this month.
The concert marked the collaboration of school and orchestra in the newly formed Studley High School Trust.
The players treated their audience to a varied programme that took in the history of music from J S Bach to the modern English composer Jonathan Dove.
A school spokesman said: “Pieces were chosen to highlight the different qualities of violin, viola and cello and were introduced with an entertaining and educative preamble.
“The programme was capped with a delightful rendition of Dvorak's String Quartet in F; the entire performance being enjoyed by a very warm, but highly appreciative, audience who hope to see similar evenings in the future.”
