A SPECIAL gift has been presented to Redditch's mayor to mark 25 years of twinning with a town in Northern France.
Councillor Roger Bennett, deputy mayor, recently visited Gruchet-le-Valasse where he was presented with a painting, by dignitaries, to mark the anniversary.
At a council meeting Cllr Bennett recalled his trip and handed the painting over to Redditch Mayor councillor Juliet Brunner.
Following the meeting the Mayor said: “What a fantastic gesture from our French counterparts and I will ensure it is displayed prominently for everyone to enjoy.
“I was saddened that I couldn’t make the trip myself to receive this wonderful gift and I thank Cllr Bennett for standing in as my deputy.”
