RESIDENTS are being invited to a memorial football match raising vital cash for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Birmingham Children's Hospital.
Organised by Stephen Spencer the game is being played later this month at Redditch United's ground, in the town centre, in memory of Vinay Kishor Ladwa.
Mr Ladwa died in 2013.
Since then Stephen and his mates decided to set up a football team in his memory – VKL United.
Stephen said: "This year would have been our friend's 29th birthday and on January 20, we have arranged to play our league game, at the Redditch United stadium where all money we raise will be donated to the QE Hospital.
"Last year we raised a staggering £1,453 (our best amount raised) and this year we are hoping to better that."
The VKL Remembrance charity football game, VKL United FC vs Astwood FC, is on Saturday, January 20 kicking off at 6.30pm.
There will be a bar open before, during and after the game.
