A NEW general manager has been appointed at Redditch Golf Club.

Kerry Alligan-Smith has taken over at the Lower Grinsty Lane club from Sue McDevitt, who has moved into a new role at Perranporth Golf Club in Cornwall.

She has most recently worked as portfolio commercial partnerships manager for project management and construction firm Lend Lease, and was also involved in the development of Touchwood Shopping Centre in Solihull.

Club chairman Peter Johnson said: “Kerry has just the right skillset to take the club forward and build on the good work done by Sue.

“Golf clubs are now about so much more than just the golf course, and clubs that are thriving have taken this on board.

"We thank Sue for all her hard work for Redditch Golf Club and are delighted to welcome such a strong successor as Kerry.”

Kerry Alligan-Smith, who lives in Astwood Bank, added: “I am delighted to have joined Redditch Golf Club and look forward to meeting all the members, our corporate clients and those who use the club purely socially.

“Redditch Golf Club is renowned for its playing facilities and I now plan to build on the club’s growing reputation as a place to play and to do business.”
