MASKED robbers threatened a woman with a machete during a raid on a property in Redditch, before making off with valuables including 12 watches and a samurai sword.

A small black plastic crossbow and an LG smart television were also stolen in the armed robbery, which took place on Sedgley Close between 9pm and 9.35pm on September 1.

The victim, who is in her 20s, was threatened by three or four unknown men who demanded money after entering the premises through an insecure door.

Police continue to search for information on the incident and are appealing to anyone who may help their investigations to come forward.

DC Tom Pritchard of Kidderminster CID said: "I'd like to reassure members of the community that incidents such as this are rare, and we have had officers in the area conducting enquiries and providing reassurance.

"The victim was thankfully unhurt as a result, but has been left understandably shaken by her ordeal.

"We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or seen suspicious activity in the area to contact us and also urge anyone who may have been offered any of the stolen items for sale to call us, as they could have important information to help with our investigation."

The men also forced entry to a shed, although nothing is believed to have been taken, before leaving by car in an unknown direction.

Anyone with information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 880s of September 1.
