A STUDLEY based funeral celebrant has been selected from hundreds of nominees to go through to the final stages of this year’s Good Funeral Awards.
Justine Wykerd from Just Celebrations is in line to win the prestigious national title of Celebrant of the Year at a ceremony in London on September 7.
Justine said: “Being nominated came as a big surprise; I have no idea who put my name forward, other than being advised it was one of the families I have supported.
"That in itself is recognition enough – to know that they thought I did a good job – however I am delighted to be a finalist. Increasingly people choose to celebrate the lives of those they have lost; I am truly honoured to officiate funerals and make them memorable for all of the right reasons.”
The Good Funeral Awards, now in its sixth year, recognise all those unsung heroes who work so hard for the bereaved and whose role can so easily be overlooked.
