IT’S the last opportunity for Redditch’s budding young stars to sign up for a magic carpet ride with this year’s out of this world summer school.

Young performers aged eight to 18, who are looking for something to keep them busy in the summer holidays, can sign up to portray much-loved characters Prince Ali, Jasmine and the genie this summer as the Palace Youth Theatre (PYT) puts on a performance of Disney’s Aladdin (JR).

Participants will come together during July and August for two weeks of rehearsals with professionals before putting on two performances at the Palace Theatre.

Liz Tabberer, youth theatre and arts officer, said: “Everyone knows the story of Aladdin and we’re extremely excited that we’re able to put on the brilliant Disney version of this show.

"If you’re looking for something different to get involved in over the summer then what could be more exciting than staging a show in just two weeks?

"There’s only one week left for registration so make sure you sign up today.”

Rehearsals will run weekdays from July 31 to August 11 from 10am to 4pm with two shows on Saturday, August 13 which take place at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Summer school costs £150 per child or £75 sibling discount. Payment plans are available. To book, please contact the Palace Theatre Box Office on 01527 65203.

Deadline for registration is next Friday, July 28.
